General VAT advice

VAT advice in general
Declaring VAT places high demands on individual taxpayers, who are increasingly reaching their limits in this complicated VAT “world”. Not least because VAT is a so-called self-assessment tax. This means that VAT returns are submitted over several periods without any certainty as to whether they will be accepted by the Federal Tax Administration (FTA). This can lead to uncertainties and possible offsetting risks.
We have recognized this problem and support you - adapted to the situation of your company - with the following services:
- VAT Planning (Optimization)
We analyze existing business transactions – all transactions of a company or just certain predefined ones – and optimize them from a VAT perspective in order to minimize the net tax burden (VAT owed).
- Obtaining a VAT Ruling
Obtaining a VAT ruling from the Federal Tax Administration (FTA) can be an option and measure for serious and professional VAT planning. A VAT ruling is obtained if there is uncertainty as to how the Federal Tax Administration (FTA) would treat a particular business case for VAT purposes. This allows you to safeguard yourself from a VAT perspective. The case is presented to the FTA in writing (including submission of the relevant documents) and in return the FTA confirms that VAT is correctly accounted for in the relevant case (provided the FTA agrees with the VAT qualification).
- VAT risk analysis
We analyze business transactions - which are defined in advance in collaboration with the client - and assess whether there would be an offsetting risk in the event of a possible audit by the Federal Tax Administration (FTA). Based on these findings, we make recommendations as to what measures can be taken to eliminate these risks and how they can be avoided in future.
- All-round VAT check
We analyze the areas of your company that are relevant to VAT and identify potential weak points with regard to VAT. The findings are discussed with you, recommendations are made and the necessary measures are taken. Possible measures include staff training or the creation of a VAT manual.
